My name is Barbara Dodson. I have been teaching spiritual philosophy, psychic development and healing workshops and circles for over 14 years, and every minute of my spare time is devoted in helping others to develop skills, which may enable them to find and work with their spirit guide.

Most of my family, both on my mother and father's side, appeared to have psychic ability, but because they were Catholic, this was only practised within family and friends. At the time I did not seem to follow this trait, for I could not see nor communicate with spirit energies.

To be honest the Catholic religion I was brought up in eventually turned me against God. For as I grew older I found it more and more difficult to love an energy which appeared to be controlling, cruel and unforgiving. I could never understand how this being, that was supposed to love us unconditionally, allowed so much suffering to befall upon those whom it created.

I lived without any beliefs until I was about 40yrs of age when some friends persuaded me to go and visit a psychic for a reading. The lady was amazing. She told me of events in my life that only I knew about. As I was stood up to leave, she held onto my hands and told me that she had a message from my spirit guide. She said he'd told her that in the near future I would be teaching spiritual philosophy and psychic development. At the time I thought the woman had got it completely wrong. Firstly I knew nothing about spirituality, secondly how could I teach psychic development when I didn't appear to have the gift and thirdly I wasn't interested. Nevertheless I thanked her and left.

A few days later I was in the garden when I heard a soft-spoken Scottish voice in my head "Hello Lassie, I'm David your spirit guide." Imagination I thought and dismissed the voice. A few weeks later the same thing happened and the voice kept occurring for months after. Eventually I decided I had to do something about it. I had dismissed imagination and was left with two alternatives. (1) I had developed a mental problem and was hearing voices in my head, or (2) Like my family, I did have psychic ability. I knew I had to seek help from either my Doctor or the Spiritualist Church. I chose the easy option - the church.

At the church I spoke to the president about my problems and she very kindly invited me to join her development circle, which I did. Although this was a great opportunity, I did hit a major problem. Nearly everyone there appeared to be extremely gifted for they could see and communicate easily with spirit, whilst initially I found this very difficult. Although I learnt a great deal from those talented mediums, my own progression seemed very slow. I think a lot of the problem was, I felt overpowered by their natural gifts and, not wanting to make a fool of myself, watched and listened more than being brave and taking part. When I asked David why couldn't I communicate with other spirit guides when could I hear him so well, he told me not to be concerned as my speed of progression was irrelevant. What was important was for me to have complete trust and confidence in him and then my ability would progress.

I continued in the circle for some time, but found the travelling very difficult and so sadly I left. I managed to find a small healing group in my village and joined them. They rarely practised psychic exercises and so I started to explain what David had taught me. Whether it was because I was relaxed and the barriers were broken down or perhaps I had opened up more to communicating with spirit, I don't know, but over a short period of time I started to find my psychic development rapidly improving. Then I hit the barriers of trust and doubt. What if the messages that I was passing onto others through clairvoyance were figments of my own imagination and not from David. For an experienced medium to give guidance on pathways of life is a great responsibility, but for a novice, a nightmare.

So, to disband these doubts, I set a test to prove to myself that David was not a figment of my imagination. The test was quite simple, I decided to ask him a series of questions that previously no one has ever been able to answer and I certainly did not have the knowledge. Initially they were about the religion I had been brought up in, but the more answers I received the wider the questions expanded and from all of his answers, I constructed the first workshop, The Meaning of Life. More workshops followed which were created by the hundreds of other question that both I and those who attended my workshops asked.

I could not exist without communicating throughout the day with my guide, David. His words of wisdom have helped me understand why we must sometimes walk difficult pathways and this in turn has helped me to accept why I have had to endure the many problems that have occurred in my life. By explaining simply why Divinity cannot always help, he has brought back into my life the God that I dismissed many years ago. He has taught me that this energy is not uncaring, nor cruel, but a loving, gentle and wise spirit. His words have not only shown me how to have a greater respect of all living things and the universe itself, but also I now have the comfort of knowing that a loving and caring spirit energy is always there to help and protect me.


Tracy Evans:

Apart from her Grandmother, no one in Tracy's family, appeared to have any visible psychic ability, Tracy has had the gift of insight from the day she was born.

Because none of her family recognized this, she never spoke to them about it and just lived her life accepting her psychic gift as normal. She has always been aware of spirit, had insight to recognize various energies, could easily distinguish negative energies that stepped near and often had premonitions.

Because of family commitment and travel, Tracy did not utilise these skills until later in life. In her thirties she realized that she did have a special gift and started to look more into the subject. She then opened her own development circle, helping others to improve their psychic skills and later ran a very successful Spiritualist Church in our local town, which was where I met her.

Tracy and I have been working together for three years now. She is a fantastic help and I now feel I would be lost without her. She can perform all the exercises we do and, when needed, will partake in any of them. She has great spiritual knowledge and, like myself, her whole life is dedicated, to help others progress.

So as you can see although Tracy and I came from completely different spiritual backgrounds, Tracy with natural ability, whilst I had to develop my psychic gifts, we are both performing the same work. OUR WORKSHOPS

OUR AIMS: All workshops have been created in order to help people develop greater spiritual knowledge and, by simple methods, we will show them how to find, accept and work with spirit guides. We encourage the growth of psychic ability and introduce various types of spiritual healing. Because we feel, when working on a spiritual level, safety is most important, we teach the significance of protection and recognition of limitation. We also discuss barriers that may prevent communication and show how to overcome these obstacles. Questions and discussion throughout the workshops are encouraged.

For those who wish to progress onto platform work, we will endeavour to bring them up to a standard that will enable them, as fledglings, to work with two proficient and well known local mediums who have kindly offered to take the candidates on.

For those who wish to develop their healing abilities, as Secretary General of the World Federation of Healing, I can guide you into membership and training with this Federation or, if you wish to join an alternative federation, I will point you into the right direction.

THE FOUR WORKSHOPS

These four workshops will give you a better understanding of your purpose upon the earth plane. Develop your spiritual knowledge, psychic ability and introduce the many aspects of spiritual healing.

The Meaning of Life, Evolution of Spirit Guides, Consolidation with your High Spirit Guide and Aspects of Healing

These workshops can be run monthly, alternate months or three monthly.

SINGLE DAY WORKSHOPS

Consolidation with your High Spirit Guide.

This is a day whereby we will try to help you find and work with your High Spirit Guide.  We will teach you, by safe and simple methods, how to utilise their wisdom, develop your psychic skills and learn the importance of protection.

A day of Psychic Development.

This workshop, although advertised as a single workshop, can be expanded into four. They can be run monthly or on a three monthly basis.  If held/attended as a single workshop, many methods of psychic exercises will be discussed and a selection will be practised.  If all three workshops are held/attended then the majority of the exercises will be covered.

Aspects of Healing .

This is a day of introduction into the many aspects of Spiritual Healing.  You will experience both receiving and the giving of healing energy and learn about the importants of safety.  It is a day to understand how and why guides channel healing energy and, by various methods, be shown that everyone has this wonderful gift. 

FOUR HALF DAY WORKSHOPS

These four Workshops will help you to develop your psychic skills.  We will teach you how to find and work with your High Spirit Guide and utilise various methods of communication. You will also learn the importance of protection and recognize your limitations.

In this workshop you will experience self healing, direct healing and how to perform absent healing you will also learn the importance of protection.
